REGIONAL AND ADVANCED REGIONAL DIPLOMAS

HOW TO REGISTER

Course registration is on a first-come basis. Course size is limited to 25. A deposit for the course fee is required with the registration form. Most Coaches take both the Regional and Advanced Regional. You may pay both deposits with a single check for $105. To register:

COURSE INFORMATION

Regional Diploma
The Regional Diploma is a 13-hour course designed for the coach working players 11 to 18 years of age. An emphasis is placed on learning to work with the developing player within both an individual and team concept. The curriculum outlines how technical and tactical concepts can be applied in the development of players. The focus is placed on the basic methods of coaching, teaching proper technique, the theory and application of offensive and defensive tactics and understanding team management. There is no testing in the Regional Diploma.   All candidates must be at least 16 years of age at the time of application.  If a candidate is under 18 years of age, an adult must accompany him or her for the duration of the course. Course Fee: $75 per candidate 

Advanced Regional Diploma
The Advanced Regional Diploma adds an eight-hour segment to the 13-hour Regional Diploma curriculum, devoted to technical and tactical uses of small-sided games, the study of systems of play and a practice teaching component. The two courses provide a 21-hour course meeting STYSA certification requirements for coaching teams U11 and older.

Participants are given an opportunity to conduct a training session on an assigned topic and are assessed by the course instructor. All candidates must be at least 16 years of age at the time of application.  If a candidate is under 18 years of age, an adult must accompany him or her for the duration of the course.
Course Fee: $105 per candidate

Course Check-in begins promptly at 5:30 on Friday.  The first lecture begins at 6:00.  Class runs from 8:00 to 5:00 on Saturday and Sunday. Candidates should be prepared to take notes and to participate in field training. Turf cleats and shin guards covered with socks are recommended, but not required.  This class will not be rained out

 Location: The classroom and field are located at Ranger Soccer Park in North Austin near the intersection of US183 and Burnet Rd.
